I'm Tom Cunningham - a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor in East Ayrshire since 2004. I now specialise in Automatic Driver Training covering Kilmarnock and surrounding areas. I've got vast knowledge and an excellent pass rate within the Irvine, Ayr and Cumnock test centres. Many students have had success with my patient and friendly approach which in turn makes learning fun and enjoyable.

How much do lessons cost?
I keep prices competitive and offer single lessons, block bookings and intensive courses. Get in touch and I'll send the latest price list along with availability for your area.
Do you teach manual?
No — I specialise in automatic driver training only. Your licence will cover automatic cars; if you later want manual you'd need lessons with a manual instructor. Automatic suits many learners, especially around towns and daily commuting.
Where do you teach?
Kilmarnock and East Ayrshire first; Irvine, Ayr and Cumnock test-route areas and surrounding towns including Galston, Newmilns, Darvel, Stewarton, Kilwinning, Troon, Prestwick, Dalry, Mauchline and Auchinleck. Outside that I'll always check.
Do you do intensive courses?
Yes — subject to availability. Intensive courses compress your learning into a shorter timeframe, which works well if you're motivated and have flexibility in your week.
What is Pass Plus and do I need it?
Pass Plus is a post-test course that builds real-world experience — motorways, dual carriageways, night driving, rural roads and adverse weather. Not required, but a great confidence builder and many insurers offer a discount for it.
